Doom Box Guitar Amp (Blackheart BH-5H)
This special little amp has been with us since the beginning. It's tone is somewhere in between the low end sag of a Matamp GT120 and the high end chime of a Fender. At only 5 watts it's not extremely loud, but it records like a dream. It handles pedals well, especially when pushed. We have used it on accent parts here and there on our records. The master volume acts like a gain knob. The louder the amp, the more it breaks up. The eq is very powerful at shaping the tone. TONS of low end when mic'd or running into a load box for recording. It has sockets for 4, 8, & 16 ohm cabs. The amp is 5 watts that you can drop down to 3 with the Pentode/Triode switch in the front. It's powered by an EL84 tube, voiced through a 12AX7 preamp tube The light has stopped working on the front but the amp still functions properly and sounds like it always has. The "Doom Box" face is a piece of black cardstock that we cut to shape. We used a vinyl printer to print out "Doom Box". Comes wi
