ACR GlobalFix V5 & V6 GPS AIS EPIRB - Cat 1 and Cat 2 with Return Link Service and Mobile App The ACR GlobalFix V5 and V6 EPIRBs combine 406 MHz satellite connectivity with Automatic Identification System (AIS) functionality for rapid alert and precise location in maritime emergencies. When activated, the EPIRB transmits a distress signal to the global Cospas-Sarsat satellite rescue system while simultaneously broadcasting an AIS safety message visible to nearby AIS-equipped vessels. Cat 1 and Cat 2 models include Return Link Service (RLS) technology for visual confirmation that the distress message has been received, 121.5 MHz homing signals, and visible and infrared strobe lights for easy identification in low visibility or night conditions. Smartphone connectivity via Near Field Communication (NFC) allows users to access beacon diagnostics including battery life, self-tests, GNSS test results, and activation history using the ACR mobile app. Deployment types differ by model: Cat
