Early Bow Tie Quilt

This beautiful (very old!) Bow Tie quilt is a true gem! Hundred's of early cotton fabrics make this a fabric study dream. Filled with dark and chocolate browns, tans, taupes, turkey reds, overdyed greens, chrome yellows, and copper-toned madders - this is a beauty to behold. Completely hand-pieced and quilted with a self-binding and two brown prints for the backing. This quilt definitely shows it's age - and has water markings on the sashing as well as age spots. There is some shattering of fabric on the back and on a couple of the blocks. Measurements: 75 "x80" Circa 1830-60's Found in New England
