Introduced in 1868, this hardy climbing rose also performs well in shady garden areas, making it an ideal choice when landscaping a north-facing wall or a garden area with little direct sunlight. Blooms peak in the late spring and returns again in the fall. The semi-double pink flowers form in loose bouquets, creating a show-stopping mass effect.The rich, dark green foliage (coppery-purple when young) is very mildew-resistant, and the canes are thornless, making it great for planting where traffic is heavy or children are nearby.
