David Bowie #5 September 2-8 1974 Diamond Dogs Tour Universal Amphitheater, Universal City, California 35mm Film Archival Pigment Print on Paper  Small or Large available below BEHIND THE SHOT This venue was fairly easy to move around in compared to some of the others so getting the close-up shot was easier.  I love the way the light highlights the brilliant color of his hair in this photo. When I came to this show for the first--of four-- times, I was expecting to see "Ziggy" in some form, but instead, David presented as this charismatic jaunty character. It was a total shock, but I very quickly came to appreciate his new developing persona which over the next year became the "Thin White Duke."
