Elton John #1 October, 1974 'Caribou' Tour The Forum, Inglewood, CA 35mm Film Archival Pigment Print on Paper  Small or Large available below BEHIND THE SHOT I love Elton’s expression in this shot!!  It just shows his spunk and his connection with his audience.  But the thing that impressed me most about this shot is the hat.  The hat he is wearing here is a hat that was thrown onto the stage by a fan.  Elton picked it up and wore it as he pranced around and through a song or two.  What struck me the most about this is the way he proudly wore an “arts and crafts” glitter project hat as if it was an original part of his clearly VERY high quality outfit with the huge crystals and lace.  It was one way he connected with us as fans.  As we witnessed an incredible performance by an incredible performer, we also got a sense of his heart as he honored our adoration.
