115 days. NON-GMO, OPEN POLLINATED, HEIRLOOM. Nearly round to elongated fruits, 18 inches long by 14-inch diameter. Up to 40 pounds! Slightly furrowed but smooth buff-colored rind. A Dickinson pumpkin – a member of the Cucurbita moschata family – is not a pumpkin at all, but actually a pumpkin-like squash. It usually grows between 10 and 30lbs, but with the right conditions can get much larger. It has tan-orange skin, and deeply sweet, dark orange flesh. The variety has an ideal taste and texture for pumpkin pies: “When cooked and pureed, the meat of the Dickenson is luscious, creamy, and naturally sweet- much like butternut squash.” In addition to having that great taste that consumers love, the variety is also “a dream for processors to work with.
