From deep in the backwoods of the Apalachicola river basin a most unique honey is produced. The white tupelo (Nyssa Ogeechee ) blooms for about two weeks in April. When in abundance honeybees will work it exclusively for its sweet nectar. A naturally thick and wonderful honey with a subtle cinnamon taste. Due to loss of habitat, tupelo honey is a hard crop to make.
