The blade is 3/16" thick and tapers to the cutting tip. File work jimping has been added to the blade for a solid thumb purchase during heavy cutting and is heavy enough to do batoning.   THE DARK AGED FINISHED BLADE IS ACID ETCHED TO HELP PREVENT RUSTING AND CORROSION.   I HAND FORGED AS ALWAYS IN MY VERMONT BLACKSMITH SHOP. MADE FROM HIGH CARBON 5160 STEEL.
