Considerably more effort is needed to forge this shape than a regular knife given the need to have more mass at the head called "Upsetting" to obtain enough metal for drawing out the head shape.Approximately 17 1/2" long overall, the head is 7 1/4" long. The spike is 2 3/4" long with the cutting section 3 3/4"The thickness of the handle is just under 3/8" thick that tapers down to the head and spike is approximately 1/4" thick.
