"The Sheaves are a five-piece from Phoenix, AZ who churn out a murky yet driving, melodic style of post-punk you don’t hear that often because, well, most bands can’t pull it off. Not exactly easy to write songs that make one think of The Fall, the Swell Maps, the Axemen, but also Chrome, the Frogs and even early Pavement, without just sounding like a tribute act. The five young men who make up the Sheaves have tapped into whatever those aforementioned bands had up their sleeves and effortlessly write catchy songs that defy post-punk expectations.
