We’re excited to introduce you to Fanny Velandia, a coffee producer in the small town of Cachipay, located in the Tequendama province of Cundinamarca, Colombia. Fanny and her family arrived in the region nearly a decade ago, working as missionaries and looking for a way to support themselves while getting to know the community. That’s when the opportunity to manage a small coffee farm came along—something they hadn’t planned for, but took on with commitment and curiosity. Over time, coffee became more than a way to make ends meet—it became a part of their daily life, and eventually, their chosen work. Fanny’s farm, San Bernardo, sits at 1600 meters above sea level and is planted with Castillo, Colombia, and Pink Bourbon varieties. Together with her husband and children, Fanny tends the land and oversees every step of the process, from farming to roasting.
