Ceasarweed seeds have a unique blend of fatty acids making them a delicious addition to rice, stews, pasta water, porridges, and more as a replacement to other oils. Instructions for use: Per 1 cup of water, add 1-2 seeds to water and bring to a boil. Add more or less to taste. Best used within 12 months. Ceasarweed, also known as Urena lobata and Congo Jute, is native to parts of Africa and Asia but invasive to Florida and other parts of the Americas. It has a long history of functional, medicinal, and edible uses. We hand harvest what we can use and then remove the invasive ceasarweed growing wild at Gaia’s Garden. This is an opportunity to improve our environment while also respecting and making the best use of the invasive plants we remove! DO NOT PLANT these seeds. They are for cooking only as the plant is highly invasive. Do not feed to pets. To learn more about ceasarweed, check out our blog post here!
