Blue on Black Glass

Original handblown glass sculpture created through a technique involving multiple layers of color and silver veiling, twisted and manipulated to reveal a multidimensional prism effect and intricate lacing of silver threads within the piece. This piece is on a black glass background with multiple sized blue glass pieces attached. Each piece by Jon and Bill Slade are created individually and so each sculpture has its own unique design and color scheme. This work is somewhat unique in that the artist has merged 2-D art with 3-D art, placing organic cylinder shaped sculptures onto a black glass background, as if the sculpture is coming to life from a canvas.
