Grow a piece of history with Concho Corn! This majestic maize reaches 6–8 feet tall, producing pearly white ears ranging from 6–13 inches long. With its long season maturity, Concho Corn is best suited for cultivation below 6,000 feet elevation, offering a resilient and rewarding crop. We are honored to share this variety in collaboration with Pueblo Seed and Food Company, who have lovingly stewarded it for many years. Originating from the Española River Valley, agricultural historian Estevan Arellano suggested its roots trace back to the Conchos River basin of Chihuahua, Mexico. Further research connects it to Maíz Blando, a historically significant variety once grown widely across Sonora, Chihuahua, and beyond. Concho varieties of northern New Mexico and southern Colorado are celebrated for their faster maturation, making them ideal for diverse growing conditions. Grow Concho Corn to honor its rich heritage and bring a piece of agricultural history to your garden! Heirloom | Floury –
