Next Generation Pistachio Hydrangea
Next Generation Pistachio Hydrangea is a compact mop-head cultivar that grows 2.5 to 3 feet tall and 3 to 5 feet wide. The 6-inch-long leaves are glossy green. Next Generation Pistachio Hydrangea typically blooms on old wood (flower buds are produced the previous fall and overwintered) in late spring with a repeat bloom on new wood from summer often into fall if spent flowers are regularly deadheaded. Each inflorescence (to 5 inches in diameter) is a large mophead covered with showy, sterile florets and a few fertile florets. Each sterile floret sports a variety of exciting and attractive colors. Next Generation Pistachio Hydrangea is best grown in rich, medium moisture, well-drained soils in part shade. Tolerates full sun only if grown in consistently moist soils.
