Taxodium distichum 'Secrest'
Taxodium distichum 'Secrest' is a very slow growing bald cypress with a weeping/globe shape. Taxodium distichum 'Secrest' was found as a witch's broom at the Secrest Arboretum, in Wooster, Ohio. Taxodium distichum 'Secrest' is excellent in rock gardens or other areas where a small, deciduous shrub is needed. Taxodium distichum 'Secrest' is interesting year round - in spring with soft green foliage, summer progresses into darker green foliage, fall color is gold/bronze and in the winter the bare branches add an interesting texture to the garden. As with all bald cypress, 'Secrest' can grow in average to very wet soil.
