As the name suggests, this unit is all about subtracting and is created for students from Kindergarten all the way to Grade 7/8. Topics range from the basics of “taking away” to borrowing/regrouping, subtracting with money, estimating, working with positive and negative numbers, subtracting fractions, and learning some mental math strategies to help with quicker calculations. Upper levels will even get a glimpse of Algebraic concepts as they work with subtraction in equations, exponents, polynomials, and ratios.
