Ready to Read 4

What is this program about? Our final book in our Ready to Read, Kindergarten-Grade 1 series is titled, "On the Savanna." It focuses on animals that you might find on the sunny African savanna. The Teacher's Guide has a daily reading, designed to be read 4 days a week and last for 9 weeks. Students will be continuing to practice tally marks, telling time, counting by 2s, 5s, and 10s, working with money, learning about science, culture, and social studies, ordinal numbers, making their own journal, as well as rich reading and Bible tie-ins.  Students are focusing on four-letter words, compound words, and how vowels can combine to make digraphs (new sounds). These are called CVVC words (consonant, vowel, vowel, consonant, such as bear) and would be appropriate for advanced Kindergarten or Grade 1, depending on the child's development and the goals of the family.
