Summer Herbal Apprenticeship - Begins June 26th

This summer we are excited to offer a personalized, hands-on herbal apprenticeship, unstructured and unusual in that the curriculum will be shaped by the needs and interests of the student apprentices as well as the plants we meet in the Sierra Mountains and back home in our raised-bed herb garden. Our journey begins with a 4-day Camping Trip (June 26-29) to the Tahoe National Forest near Sierraville at Cottonwood Creek Campground. On this trip, we will explore the plants that grow at 7,000+ feet in elevation, learning the skills of plant identification, basic botany and ethics surrounding wildcrafting. We will take leisurely day hikes from our base camp led by a local botanist and medicine woman, Nancy Harnach. Cheryl Fromholzer, Gathering Thyme's Founder and Herbal Educator will lead instruction on medicine making techniques in the afternoons. All materials will be provided.
