Monogramist “H.N.,” Cypress Trees

We like to imagine that this monogramed “HN” piece was painted plein air by the artist touring the Mediterranean in the 1930’s. The colors are remarkably vibrant given the age, and painted with an Impressionistic palette and lovely purple hued shadows. It’s housed in its original gilded frame, but with a new archival silk mat and conservation grade UV blocking glass. The original frame in which it it housed is still brilliantly gold, but has some damage touchups on the corners. Housed in archival materials, and ready to hang.
