Art of Manga Making from Pencil to Pixel In this class, students will learn the art of manga-making, from pencil sketches to fully realized digital illustrations, using the software Manga Maker ComiPo. They’ll start by creating character designs and story concepts through traditional drawing techniques, then transition to the digital realm, where they’ll bring their ideas to life using ComiPo’s 3D characters, poses, and backgrounds. The class will cover inking, toning, and layout design while also offering plenty of hands-on drawing practice. Students will develop their own manga stories, combining digital tools and traditional techniques to refine their manga-making skills. Class Objectives: Create original manga characters using traditional sketching techniques. Develop story concepts and layouts, focusing on panel composition and visual storytelling.
