I have a fondness for banded agate and this beautiful brooch makes me very happy. The stone is cut to show a circle of the white band as a border and the bezel is surrounded by 2 sizes of fancifully twisted gold wire. The brooch is designed in the shape of a many petaled flower and each scalloped gold petal has a stylized fan shaped flower enameled in white and black on it. The enamel work on this brooch is very fine and in the champlevé style. The brooch has a locket back and is crafted of 18k gold, mid 19th century. Details.....The brooch measures 1.39" across. In very good antique condition with a very small enamel loss. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels, we consider it a part of their charm. Item #kv3077
