Abstract Guilloché Enamel Brooch by Holmsen

This beautiful abstract brooch was made in Norway during World War II era. The swirling 835 silver gilt pin has been beautified with vivid red and white guilloché enamel. It reminds us of a stylized orchid. This piece is signed by Aksel Holmsen. Holmsen was a Norwegian artist who worked primarily in silver and enamel. He was apprenticed to the renown jeweler David Andersen. Circa 1940. Details.....The brooch measure 1.78" by 1.36". In Very Good Vintage condition.
