This exquisite Victorian locket brooch is the perfect repository for a tress of a loved one's hair. The hinged top of the 12k gold locket is engraved with a banner and curling foliate patterns. It bears the initials "J.A.C." The casket-style oval locket is framed in elaborate Neoclassical scroll designs rendered in three dimensional repoussé metal work. The original brooch pin has been replaced with a secure safety clasp. Circa 1850. Details.....The brooch measures 1.62" by 1.02". In Very Good Antique Condition.
