Glossy White 25.5" Pearl Necklace with White Gold Clasp

Just on the longer side of matinee length, this strand of glossy white cultured pearls makes an elegant statement. The nicely matched pearls are hand-knotted on white silk and finished with a 14k white gold filigreed bead clasp. Definitely clutch-worthy. Circa 1950. Cultured pearls are created by adding an irritant, such as a grain of sand or small bead, to a pearl oyster to encourage it to cover the irritant in nacre, thus creating a pearl.
