Lilac, Syringa vulgaris
Lilac, Syringa vulgaris Why Lauren loves Lilac Gemmo We are only beginning to understand the potential of the amazing Gemmo. I love what it holds for our imminent health challenges. Lilac Shrub This ornamental shrub is originally from Asia Minor and Southeastern Europe, and was only introduced to Spain in 982 and the rest of Europe in the 1600’s. . Lilac grows in preferably dry soil, without stagnant moisture. It can reach 15 feet (5 meters) high and the roots tend to sprout forming large clusters from a single plant. Its first flowers, and very fragrant, do not appear until the age of 5 years. In ancient times, flowers were used to prepare a massage oil for athletes, joint pain and rheumatism. The oil was also used in rituals to promote mental balance, purification and to improve psychic powers.
