Lithy Tree, Viburnum lantana
Lithy Why Lauren loves Lithy Gemmo I love what it offers emotionally for the nervous system. Very calming, it is known to excavate grief from the lungs, so one must be prepared to process what arises. Lithy Tree Lithy Tree is a deciduous shrub which can reach up to 5 m or 16 ft tall and its beautiful white flowers with a lily scent, resemble snowballs placed on the branches. The fruits/berries start out green, then red, and turn black, all being poisonous. The leaves are hairy on the underside and turn red in the fall. These trees are found in scrub, hedgerows and woodland edges, especially those on calcareous soils. The twigs are very tough and flexible, easily bent but hard to break, which explains why they are used to tie hay bales, and there is evidence that, in Europe at least, its straight wood was used to make arrows.
