Secateurs and Sheath bundle
SECATEURS The Sokan brand is the oldest brand of secateurs in Japan. 200 years ago, Mr Sokan was a blacksmith making swords, and in 1870 the company produced the first ever pair of secateurs in Japan. The tool is hot forged from high carbon steel and ground by hand. Japanese secateurs are made from only two pieces of metal, with the blade and handle forming one piece. This gives a stronger tool and better balance than European garden secateurs where the blade is welded to the handle. The two sides of the secateur are bolted together and it is the integrity of this bolt that gives the secateurs their distinctive cut. These Sokan secateurs use a tapered bolt which gets thicker towards the head. As the craftsman forces the bolt into the holes, the metal of the bolt begins to unify with the metal of the handle/blade. So, the bolt never needs tightening. Packed in a distinctive box, these garden secateurs are a great gift for any passionate gardener, or a wonderful treat for yourself. Repla
