Description: A beautiful decorative painted carved wood large duck decoy. This is a decoy of a hooded merganser drake or male duck. The piece is carved in the sleek form of a hooded merganser drake with a dark head having a white patch or hood, black bill and dark and brown wings. The decoy has what we believe are glass eyes with black centers. The decoy has no carved details except for general shape, curves within the head, and some carved thin outlines along the wings and tail. The ends of the wings on the back have white highlights. The decoy has a flat mostly painted bottom, which is signed and dated by the artist.
