2001 Tim Strawser Tramp Art Style Wood Painted Primitive Folk Art Box Slide Lid

Description: A hand carved wood and polychrome painted brown colored American Folk Art box. This small wooden box, which is of the Tramp Art style, has a sliding lid and is decorated with round carved multi-layer circles with yellow dots on two of the four sides and on top of the lid. Two of the sides of the box are decorated with rectangular raised shapes instead of the circles. All sides and the lid are raised in multiple layers, again in the Tramp Art style, with notched edges. The top of the lid is also raised and has the notched edges and the white dot decorations. The raised notched decorations on the sides and top appear to be held together with glue and attached to the flat portions with nails. The sides themselves and the bottom appear to be held together with nails and glue. The bottom of the box is signed and dated by the artist. The inside of the box is not painted and neither is the bottom of the lid and they all show the bare wood. Just a wonderful and nicely done piece o
