Handmade Tasting Ladle Wrought Iron Handle w/ Rat Tail Copper Bowl By H.J. Heine

Description: A beautiful small and rather dainty handmade butcher or kitchen tasting ladle. This small ladle has a wrought iron or steel handle attached to a small and shallow copper bowl with copper rivets. The slightly curved handle is flat and is riveted to the small and not very deep copper bowl with two copper rivets. The handle is decorated with interesting punched dots along the handle and an incised X near the bowl all on the front. It is stamped on the back "H. J. HEINE". The handle of the tasting ladle ends in a curved portion (rat tail) from which the ladle would be hung. The handle which started as a solid iron or steel rod was obviously flattened and decorated by the blacksmith who made it. The bowl is thin, round, shallow, and is made of copper. It is attached to the handle with two copper rivets. This is a great looking vintage piece which would make a great addition to any collection.
