SHEFA is one of the 12 unique original canvases featured in Gilat Ben-Dor's new series of small works, Pomegranate Tapestry. Shefa means "plenty" in Hebrew, and depicts a pomegranate splitting open, and releasing a profusion of seeds. These "seeds" are made of imported Czech glass beads, hand-embellished, and symbolize the raining down of blessings that we can all experience through gratitude. They form a raised, textured terrain that extends towards the sides and bottom of the "seeded" area of the painting.
