Bucephalandra Catherinae Red, or Buce Catherinae for short, is a unique aquatic plant from one of the most popular families in the aquascaping hobby. Characterized by its ruffled, thin leaves and varying colors, it makes an excellent addition to any planted aquarium. It offers a distinct look and makes a great accent plant for nano aquariums, terrariums or small scale planted setups. Like other Bucephalandra species, it is hardy and adaptable to a wide range of aquarium conditions. Because of this, Buce are commonly associated with low-tech planted aquariums. Their easy care and forgiving nature make them great beginner plants, but the results are even better when given higher levels of care. You’ll notice differences in color and form with CO2 injection, good flow, moderate lighting, and regular liquid fertilizer dosing.
