The Apollo 3/4 in. Lead Free Brass Full Port Solder Ball Valve with Integral Thermal Expansion Relief Valve with 3/8 in. Hose Barb Outlet serves the same purpose as a thermal expansion tank in that it relieves excess pressure caused by heated water in a closed piping system. This valve is designed to eliminate the buildup of potentially harmful water pressure. The valve is preset to relieve pressure in excess of 125 psi and includes a water heater shut-off. This particular model is fitted with a 3/8 in. hose barb outlet. This product is lead free and combines a water heater isolation valve and an IAPMO approved thermal expansion relief device. This solves 2-code requirements while saving time, installation space and money. It is the ideal alternative to expansion tanks in residential plumbing systems.
