Drawing #121: "Pointing Pierrot in Ultramarine Blue, No.2" [Oil Paint on Beeswaxed Midori A5 paper]

AK Kidd 2021 Ink and oil paint on a cream-colored sheet of Midori MD A5 Pad Paper with its signature corner notch.Part of an ongoing experiment with hand-waxing paper with beeswax and the ways such pieces take color.The drawing has been treated with hot USP refined white beeswax, making it water-proof and durable. After the beeswax treatment, a thin layer of ultramarine oil paint was then applied to the wax and allowed to dry for several months, leaving the paper vibrant and translucent. Ships flat in a durable mailer, wrapped in glassine paper, and sandwiched between two pieces of cardboard.
