MOC From Designer: brick_squadron Introduction To MOCs: A military version of the Douglas DC-10, the KC-10 Extender was designed to supplement the KC-135 fleet by producing a tanker that can effectively take on tanker/airlift roles. Although able to carry more cargo and fuel, the KC-10 could not fill roles within nuclear response and was relegated to larger bases on the East and West coasts of the US. It did find great capability in being able to perform both drogue and boom air refueling without modification (unlike the KC-135) and found great use in the Afghanistan theater due to its ability to take fuel itself to increase its loiter duration.This model is 1:110 scale and features a functioning cargo door as well as boom!
