Introduced in 1957, the KC-135 became the workhorse of air refueling and continues to carry that torch today. Active in four different countries with the primary operator being the US, the KC-135 utilizes a boom for aerial refueling with the additional capability of drogue air refueling via pods on the wing (MPRS) or attaching a drogue to the boom.
