This rally was a benefit to help raise funds for the restoration of the USS Constitution, later known as Old Ironsides, a three-masted wooden-hulled heavy frigate launched in 1797 during the presidency of George Washington which remains today as the oldest commissioned naval warship still afloat. This poster extolls the viewer to “Save The Old Ship That Saved The Nation” and promises a performance by combined Army, Navy and Marine Bands led by John Phillips Sousa along with Eminent Speakers, Operatic Stars and a Patriotic Program.
