He Chose…NAVY – Go To Your Nearest Recruiting Station Today  The lower margin is printed “11-2-42” indicating the poster was issued in November 1942, less than a year after the United States entered WWII.  The artist C. Lee Watts was born in Huntsville, Alabama in 1918 and attended the prestigious Pratt Institute in New York City where he developed his skill as an artist.  With the outbreak of WWII Watts enlisted in the US Navy and worked as an artist where he created this poster and others.   After the war Watts taught at the Cleveland Institute of A
