Date: 1948Artist: Riccobaldi, Giuseppe  Size (in): 39 x 25”Size (cm): 99 cm x 63.5 cmCondition: A-Linen backed: Yes This beautiful vintage original 1948 Italian travel poster was created by the artist Giuseppe Riccobaldi and issued by ENIT, the official state tourism authority of Italy, to promote the resort island of Capri.  For this poster Riccobaldi renders a sunny and colorful image of the island’s breathtaking scenery including the iconic Faraglioni di Capri.  These rugged sea stacks or rocky islets rise up from the Mediterranean just offshore in the Bay of Naples formed by millions of years of erosion from wind, rain and tidal action.   Riccobaldi was a prolific artist who worked primarily in book illustration and posters including travel posters, movie posters and advertising posters for several of Italy’s most well know brands and companies including Fiat, Pirelli and Martini among others.  The lower margin shows a August 1948 publication date and indicates the printer as Barab
