Date: 1948Artist: Whitmore, Olive  Size (in): 40” x 25”Size (cm): 101.6 x 63.5Condition: B-Linen backed: Yes This vintage original poster by Olive Whitmore advertises the 1948 Dublin Horse Show in Dublin, Ireland.   This same poster design with slight variations including overprinting of airline names was used to advertise the Dublin Horse Show for several years beginning in the 1930s.   For this poster Whitmore renders an image of a white horse with rider jumping over an outline of Ireland with text that reads:  DUBLIN HORSE SHOW August 24, 25, 26, 27 & 28, 1948.  Great International Military and Civil Horse Jumping Contest  Whitmore’s name is signed in print in the image area and the bottom of the poster is printed “Royal Dublin Society” and “Ball’s Bridge Dublin”.   The lower margin indicates this poster was printed in Ireland by Alex Thom & Co.
