Chapin for the Hercules Powder Company and issued by the National Safety Council in the late 1920s. These posters all feature the cartoon like advertising characters “Nip & Tuck” and relate to blasting safety in mines. These small format posters measure about 12” x 9” and all are printed one side only with the National Safety Council logo appearing at the bottom. Two of the posters are also printed “Cement & Quarry Series” and one is printed “General Series” with a different number given for each poster including No. Cem. 45, No. Cem 46 and General Series No. 2210. “Courtesy The Hercules Powder Co.” is printed at the bottom of each poster and the artist’s name Chapin is printed in the image area.
