A large cruise ship is dwarfed by mountains as it passes through one of Norway’s many spectacular and breathtaking fjords. Blessum was born in Norway and immigrated to the United States as a child where he attended the Art Institute of Chicago and later worked as a commercial artist for the Chicago Tribune newspaper. Blessum never lost his love for his native Norway and produced several beautiful posters for the Norwegian State Railways while also working as that company’s representative in New York City during the 1920s and 1930s. The lower margin indicates this poster was printed in Norway by A. Worner Litho of Oslo for the Norwegian State Railways. This vintage original poster has been professionally backed to linen.
