This colorful silkscreen poster features the whimsical stylized image of a group of tourists riding the cable car to the peak of Rio de Janeiro’s Sugarloaf Mountain as one of Braniff’s DC-6 propeller airliners flies by overhead all rendered in a delightful Mid-Century style. Text on the poster reads: RIO Via Eastern Air Lines and Braniff International AirwaysThis poster was issued in at least two variations and this one featuring the DC-6 propeller airliner is the earlier version. On later versions a jet airliner replaces the DC-6 and “Eastern Air Lines” is removed so that the later version of this poster only mentions Braniff.
