Where were we before?
With this painting the artist explores where we were before we came to this earth as humans. We go to an unknown realm after our eyelids close in death, but then going to an unknown realm after death also implies that we came from somewhere. In this painting, Oyekale illustrates the unfamiliar realm with the underwater scene. The fish are metaphorical, and represent the Oyekale’s search for the truth. The two children in the painting represent the soliloquy he developed. Year: 2021Medium: Acrylic on canvas Dimensions: 36 x 36 inches This product is for local NYC pick up only.
