Goethite (FeO(OH)) is a common iron oxyhydroxide mineral, often found as a rust-like substance, used as an iron ore, pigment (yellow ochre), and in environmental remediation due to its strong iron-binding properties. Found globally in soils, sediments, and hydrothermal deposits, it forms from the weathering of other iron minerals and appears in colors from yellow-brown to black, in earthy masses or distinct crystals, with a yellowish-brown streak. It's named after German poet J.W. von Goethe. This item is 6” x 4” and weighs 13.45 oz
