Boysenberry Beet Jam
Boysenberries originated in California and are a tart hybrid between raspberry, blackberry, loganberry, and dewberry. The sweetness of the beet balances the tartness of the berry, helping to give the jam a velvety texture. DETAILS: 8 oz | Organic boysenberries, organic beets, organic sugar, organic apple cider vinegar | Handmade in small batches in Berkeley, CA. MORE: I met Saba shortly after I moved to the Bay, through Michael Marriott, the designer behind WoodMetalPlastic. An Iranian-American immigrant, Saba started her career as a chemical engineer before turning her passion for jam into a full-time business. She uses local, seasonal ingredients to create her unique and addictive jams. Once opened, these are gone almost immediately. I enjoy them on toast, but love adding these to yogurt or oatmeal with some honey, olive oil, and salt.
