Near their tail, they have subtle navy blue hues. Their black dumbo pectorals complement their most unique feature; splendid red and black mosaic patterns on the dorsal and caudal fins. Females mature to 2.5 inches by 6 months. Females have a silver body. Their dorsal fins and tails are a mix of electric blues and periwinkle purples that are faintly patterned with black markings.
