This CD debuts 24 Peggy Lee classic as well as hard to find songs for the first time in STEREO. Peggy recorded them in the days of 1-channel monaural. Now, new audio technology called “DES” (Digitally Extracted Stereo) makes it possible for engineers to take a mono master and separate the instruments and vocals into individual tracks that can then be mixed into authentic-sounding stereo with true channel separation like a modern, multi-track recording.  It’s a laborious and time-consuming process—akin perhaps to restoring an old master canvas that has been painted over. But you hear much more detail in the original music, and Peggy really comes alive!
